All year long the day temperature is around 30o Celsius (68 Fo) and the humidity is high. In Bali, the seasons are divided in two; the dry season (April-October) and the rainy season (November-March), although there is a slight chance of rain all year round. Especially at the end of the rainy season (February-March) it can be really hot and humid. In the night it can be more chilly in the dry season and in the higher (mountain) areas. Then, a sweater is smart to bring along. In the daytime, shorts and shirts will do, but be careful with the mosquito’s, especially at the end of the rain season in the daytime. These types of mosquitoes can infect you with the dengue fever.

The high tourist season is July and August and the weeks surrounding Christmas and New Year’s, when prices are higher and tourist traffic is considerably increased.

Public Holidays
Public holidays are New Year’s Day (Jan 1), Idul Fitri (celebration of the end of Ramadan, date changes every year), Nyepi (a major purification ritual and a time when Balinese are supposed to sit at home, silent, in late Mar), Good Friday and Easter Sunday (late Mar/early Apr), Muslim New Year (mid-May), Indonesia Independence Day (Aug 17), Ascension Day of Mohammed (early Dec), and Christmas (Dec 25).
